CENTRO ANTIVIOLENZA CERCHI D'ACQUA
(CIRCLES OF WATER ANTI-VIOLENCE CENTER)

Milan, Cerchi d’Acqua Onlus

This Center was created in 2000 with the objective of battling the phenomenon of gender-based violence by welcoming women who have been subjected to violence and offering them psychological support. Additionally, the Center offers support to the victim’s relatives who have been afflicted indirectly by the trauma. Cerchi d’Acqua Onlus aims to provoke change at social and cultural levels, also offering sensitivity training on the subject of violence.

Because of the complexity of this phenomenon of violence, which impacts women on a psychological, relational, social and economic level, Cerchi d’Acqua promotes welcome interviews, psychological support, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, legal consulting, supervised visits and vocational guidance.

Finally, the Center promotes the collection and elaboration of data (guaranteeing confidentiality, anonymity and non-judgment) – a trove of information that contributes to research on the phenomenon and the ability to create more focused initiatives to women as well as prevention initiatives.
