The culture of craftsmanship is at the essence of our idea of elegance: a heritage of expertise and passion that we convey year after year through our collections. The “sharing” of this heritage is what transforms our tradition into creativity; our legacy into progress. For this reason, in occasion of Canali Rewind, our Milan Men’s Fashion Week presentation of our new Fall Winter 2017 collection and a new short film, we opened our doors to students of select fashion schools – IED (Institute of European Design), Domus Academy, NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) and Istituto Marangoni – hosting workshops on artisanship and Made in Italy.
CANALI WORKSHOPS ON ITALIAN EXCELLENCE
Elisabetta Canali – Group Communication Director – elaborated on the inspiration of the collection and the values of our company, taking them on a journey towards the origins of elegance, of everything that is made well and made in Italy. This journey, one that begins at the end and ends at the beginning, takes shape in Rewind, a short film created exclusively for Canali by renowned Italian director Ivan Cotroneo in collaboration with Director of Photography Luca Bigazzi (The Great Beauty) and with original music by Oscar-winning composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice). Cotroneo also participated in the workshops, speaking about excellence in Italian creativity.
Members of our internal product and merchandising teams were also on hand to provide more technical details on the collection, allowing students to learn all about the construction, motifs and silhouettes of the pieces as well as the passion that goes into creating them.
